Welcome
I'm a laureate of the Inserm
'Avenir' program working within Inserm U574 (Néphropathies
Héréditaires et Rein en Développement, directed by
Dr. Corinne Antignac)
at Hôpital Necker-Enfants
Malades in Paris, France.
The overall goal of my lab is to define roles for
miRNA-mediated gene silencing in the kidney, with particular emphasis on
glomerular and podocyte biology.
By studying conditional Dicer knockout mice we have shown
that miRNAs play crucial roles in orchestrating kidney development, and
are essential for reinforcing podocyte differentiation and maintaining
the functional integrity of the glomerular filtration barrier.
Our research is also directed at defining the specific miRNA ‘signature’
of normal and diseased kidney, both at the organ and cellular levels
using array-based profiling and in situ hybridization.
Ultimately, we aim to ascribe biologic roles to individual miRNAs in the
kidney through gain- and loss-of-function studies in vitro and
in vivo.
Please follow the links above to pages that provide an
overview of my research interests and accomplishments.
